The Italian professional dancer – who took home the Glitterball Trophy trophy with dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, beating off competition from runners-up John and his pro partner Johannes Radebe – has been working out ahead of the upcoming ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tour, and admitted he is keen to resemble the 'Great British Bake Off' winner.

Giovanni, 31, took to his Instagram Stories to share a video of himself alongside John, 32, training inside the gym.

He said: “So just to let you know, by the end of the tour, I'm going to look like this guy."

John responded: “Yeah, you are.”

Giovanni added: “He's training me. I mean, today's the first day but it's got some muscle hasn't it. The pirate.”

‘Strictly’ winners Rose and Giovanni are over the moon to be working together again.

Rose, who was facing away from Giovanni as he hugged her, told the camera: “You're not allowed to see my costume, that's why I'm hiding right behind him. So, basically, we're doing a dress run and it's going well.”

Giovanni replied: “So the dress run is going very well. It's nice to dance with you again."

The 27-year-old actress said: “It's lovely to dance again, it's bringing happy memories.”

Followers were also happy to catch a quick glimpse of US-based former judge Bruno Tonioli, 66, who had to miss last year's 'Strictly' series due to the COVID pandemic restrictions.

He was replaced by ballroom dancer Anton Du Beke, 55.
