Giovanna Fletcher has landed a new role in a musical.
The 'I'm a Celebrity ...Get Me Out of Here!' winner is returning to the stage after landing a part in the touring production of hit musical 'Everybody’s Talking About Jamie' which is heading to cities across the UK in late 2023/24 after a successful three-year run in London's West End.
Giovanna said of her new job: "'Everybody’s Talking About Jamie' is a wonderful show. Not only does it have great music, dance and humour, it also has masses of heart. The story is a universal tale of courage and acceptance, and one I can’t wait to help bring to life. I’m thrilled to get back on stage with such a talented cast and look forward to audiences across the UK falling in love with this show."
The tour kicks off at The Lowry in Manchester in September. Giovanna will take over the role of Miss Hedge from Hayley Tamaddon and will appear in the show from 8 January to 23 March 2024. The role will then be played by 'The X Factor' star Sam Bailey from 25 March to 15 July 2024. Former 'Strictly Come Dancing' star Kevin Clifton will also appear in the show - playing Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 25 March to 15 July 2024.
Giovanna made her West End debut back in 2016 with a part in Alan Menken's 'A Christmas Carol' at the Lyceum Theatre. A year later, she went on to appear in a stage version of 'The Christmasaurus' - adapted from the book of the same name written by her pop star husband Tom Fletcher.
The podcaster returned to the stage again in 2021 playing Jenny in '2:22: A Ghost Story' - a role than has also been played by celebrities including pop star Lily Allen, former 'Love Island' host Laura Whitmore and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl.
