Giovanna Fletcher has been named the new ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ camp leader.
The 35-year-old author and podcast host took over from Jordan North as the leader of the camp on Thursday’s (26.11.20) episode of the ITV reality show, and has chosen Beverley Callard to help her out as her deputy.
Speaking after she was chosen, Giovanna said: “This is a bit of a surprise. I’ll be honest, I’ve been eying up that chair - that football scarf can do one as now I’m in town.”
Whilst Beverley added: “I’m thrilled to be deputy. I’m really honoured that she chose me.”
As the new leaders of camp, Giovanna and Beverley were tasked with giving their campmates new chores, and chose to make Vernon Kay and Victoria Derbyshire the camp chefs.
Sir Mo Farah and Shane Richie are now on camp maintenance, whilst the camp cleaners are Jordan North and Hollie Arnold.
Laundry duties now belong to Ruthie Henshall and Russell Watson, and Jessica Plummer and AJ Pritchard will do the washing up, after AJ showed off his prowess with a sponge earlier this week.
The dancer said of his new position: “If you do a job too well you get given a job, don’t you? I’m happy with my role. Yeah, I don’t know why I’m talking high pitched, but I’m happy.”
Elsewhere, Shane and Hollie took on the ‘Wicked Waterways’ trial, in which they had to traverse through two tunnels whilst filling up a bucket to transfer water through a pipe system, which would then release stars.
There were six stars up for grabs, each worth two meals for camp, but the pair struggled with the challenge and only managed to win two stars, giving them four meals.
Speaking after the news was announced, Vernon said: “It’s our first night on cooking duty and we’ve been thrown under the bus, we’ve got 4 meals to feed 12 people, it’s going to be tough.”
