Geri Horner was crowned Star Baker in the third heat of 'The Great Sport Relief Bake Off' last night (17.02.16).
The former Spice Girls singer beat presenter Louise Redknapp, footballer Jermaine Jenas and BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson to the prestigious title as she mastered a flaky family-sized tart, a tempting tray bake and a batch of gingerbread sportsmen in the charity celebrity cooking show.
Geri - who is married to race car driver Christian Horner - said of her win: "My husband is always making fun of my cooking... I can't wait to tell him!"
The flame-haired beauty, 43, took the lead in the competition with her impressive crusty pastry before wowing judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with her healthy beetroot cake smothered with cream cheese icing and topped with a sugar-glazed beetroot heart.
However, Geri didn't manage to please the judges in every round as she slipped behind in the final bake-off when she created a long jump pit featuring Paul as a competitor.
The celebrity chef, clearly offended, said: "Are you serious, is that meant to be me? I think overall the idea was sound enough, but it looks like a beach. It's a great biscuit."
Meanwhile, next week will see a new batch of celebrities - Will Young, Ade Edmondson, Alison Steadman and Morgana Robinson - attempt to dazzle the judges with their masterpieces as they whip out their aprons and head into the famous bakery tent for the final episode.
