Georgia May Foote collapsed on the set of Coronation Street.
The 23-year-old actress - who plays single mum Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap - was rushed to hospital after she lost consciousness during filming yesterday (30.05.14).
Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote was rushed to hospital after she fainted on the set of the ITV soap.
Georgia was tended to by paramedics for thirty minutes on the set at Salford's Media City before being taken for treatment.
An insider told The Daily Star newspaper: "Everyone was really worried about Georgia.
"She's not the kind of person who likes to make a fuss and will always get on with her work even if she's feeling a bit under the weather. When word spread that she was so ill an ambulance had been called, everyone was very worried.
"The paramedics were with her for a while and they decided that she should go to hospital to be checked over by doctors as a precaution.
"Corrie is like a family so naturally people are concerned for her.
"Hopefully after a rest over the weekend she will be back to her normal self next week."
The incident comes just weeks after it was announced Georgia was to be axed from the show four years after taking on the role.
She has said of her departure from the soap: "I was a bit gutted that leaving Corrie wasn't my decision... it's like a boyfriend dumping you.
"But I'm really excited. If anything, it's given me that kick I needed to move on to other things.''
