The BBC's first ever presenter with Down's Syndrome has joined CBeebies.
George Webster is a 20-year-old actor, dancer and ambassador for the charity Mencap, and will join the presenting troupe on the children's channel.
The 'CBeebies Grown-Ups' Twitter account - a social platform for parents of young viewers - confirmed the news with a clip of George accepting the job, accompanied by a message which read: "EXCITING NEWS our NEW CBeebies House presenter, George will be starting soon!
"He loves cooking and dancing, and he can't wait to be your friend."
The video then homes in on the channel's newest star and sees him telling the camera: "I'm George, I'm 20 years old and I have Down's Syndrome.
"I call myself George because that's who I am. Not Down's George. I have an amazing life. I am so proud and I'm feeling so excited to start."
The BBC has been praised recently for increasing diversity and giving more roles to people with Down’s Syndrome.
