'Geordie Shore' will be filmed in Colombia.
The new series of the MTV reality show will see the reality stars head to South America, after the bars and nightclubs in Newcastle have been forced to close due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: “MTV has pretty much invited back all Geordie Shore’s cast, past and present, for a huge special next year out in Colombia. Hanging out on a paradise isle with cocktails a-plenty couldn’t be a more dramatically different backdrop for the cast than their usual haunts.
"But it’s just what the Geordie Shorers need – and fans want to see – after a year cooped up at home.”
It comes after former cast member Marnie Simpson said she wanted to reunite with her former co-stars to celebrate the MTV show's 10-year anniversary.
She said: "I have heard rumours that there is going to be one. I'm just waiting for that call. I'm just waiting for that call. I'll definitely be up for it.
"Oh God, it will be amazing to go back in that house with all of the girls. It will be so fun. Living on a yacht was amazing. Also travelling all the Greek islands with my friends. We went to Zante, Malia, Mykonos, Ios as well as Athens."
Although Marnie would not like to return to the show full time, she is excited about reuniting with her co-stars for a reunion special.
She said: "For a reunion series going in for like a week would be epic. But when we did it back in the day that was pretty intense. I don't think I'd have the energy to do that again. But it would be nice to go in and have fun with all of the girls because we're all so close. When we get together we have so much fun."
