The 48-year-old comedian hosts the revamped game show alongside her long-time presenting partner Mel Giedroyc, and Sue has revealed how Bruce - who previously hosted the show - has influenced the revamp.

She shared: "We grew up with Brucie.

"He was the only entertainer we can think of who not only had a catchphrase but a silhouette; that bent leg, first to forehead stance. We've stayed true to the spirit of the original."

Mel also recognises the responsibility that comes with reviving the iconic show.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Mel explained: "This is one of the most cherished entertainment shows of all time and we don't take that lightly."

Despite this, Jim Davidson - who also presented the game show in the 90s - previously rubbished Mel and Sue's credentials.

The veteran star admitted he didn't know who they were, but doubted the duo were suitable successors to Bruce.

He said: "They're not right, they won't know how to ad-lib. They're not there to teach them how to bake a f***ing cake.

"I don't know these women, I've never heard of them but you need someone that's going to be able to ad-lib and drive the show along.

"That's why Bruce was so good. He drove it along his way. He was the energy. You can't remember any of the people on it, all you remember is Bruce."
