Gemma Oaten wants to go back to 'Emmerdale'.
The 32-year-old actress would "love" to reprise her role as chavvy factory worker Rachel Breckle - a part she portrayed for four years - in the long-running soap in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the 25th anniversary dinner of HIV charity Positive East at London's Beaufort House on Thursday (08.09.16), she said: "I'd love love to go back to 'Emmerdale'."
And the brunette beauty thinks it would be great to see her alter ego return to the dales to "beat up" Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), who fathered her son after a one-night stand.
She explained: "I need to go back and beat up Jai."
Rachel was driven out of the village last year by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) after they blackmailed her into confessing to the fire at Home Farm in order to release her fiancé Sam Dingle (James Hooton), who they framed for arson, from prison.
However, for now, the brunette beauty has her eye on a period drama as she'd like to break through her typecast.
She said recently: "There are talks about a period drama. It would be amazing to get that and be in a corset rather than trackie bottoms and a hoodie - it would be great to do something really different.
"All of the characters I've played have been rough and ready ... Over the years, I've set fire to a pub, I've hit a boyfriend and I've taken drugs on screen. But I can scrub up OK so doing a period piece would be perfect for me."
