Gemma Oaten's alter-ego will be at the head of a catfight on Emmerdale, it has been revealed.
The actress - who plays troubled Rachel Breckle - says her character is set for a showdown with Charity Sharma (Emma Atkins), who seeks revenge after finding out her husband Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is the father of Rachel's child, and fans will see some "bitch-slapping" when those scenes air this week.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "Charity orchestrates it all - she gets Rachel, Sam and Jai to come to the factory and there is some bitch-slapping going on. I won't say who hits who - you'll have to wait and see."
The 29-year-old actress admits filming the explosive scenes were an emotional experience, and she is excited to see it play out.
Gemma explained: "It's been a long time coming hasn't it? So it had to be pretty mad when it all blew up. Rachel's a tough cookie and she has been backed into a corner by Jai and manipulated."
Meanwhile, Gemma says she is keen to explore new roles after announcing she will be departing the long-running ITV soap following her two-year stint on the show.
She said: "I can't wait to get out there and explore new roles, but I wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for 'Emmerdale' - and for that reason it will always have a special place in my heart. Being part of this show has been huge for me."
The brunette beauty will bow out from the soap in a top-secret storyline but she has assured fans her character will not be killed off, meaning there is a possibility she could return in the future.
She explained: "I'm so grateful to have such a big exit with the door being left wide open. There's still so much to come for Rachel, so I'm focusing on giving the show my all."
