Gary Busey has won 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The 70-year-old actor - who was the favourite to win the show - beat boxing star Audley Harrison, despite causing controversy amongst his fellow housemates.

Gary Busey crowned the first ever American winner of 'Celebrity Brother', and described it as "a tribute to" his love of the UK

Addressing the crowd as he exited the house, Gary said: "I can't tell you this feeling of enlightenment and loving love from Britain and all the housemates that I lived with and everyone here.

"I know why the word 'Great' is front of Britain."

In his interview with Emma Willis, he added: "It's a feeling of surprise and honour and a tribute to my love for this country."

Meanwhile, Gary - who is the first American winner of the show - admitted he had no idea what the house would be like.

He said: "I saw the housemates and it was like: 'Wow this is great'. I had no idea what I would be up against and people challenging me.

"When you've been around the sun 70 times ... you've got a new knowledge of life and you've got a new knowledge of humour and you learn to respect the youth ... That's life, that's evolution, that's growing up. I didn't know what to expect."

Gary - who has starred in Hollywood hits such as 'Lethal Weapon' and 'Point Break' - revealed the show had changed him as a person.

He explained: "When I go back home, I'm a changed man. I will be with my sweetheart wife Steffanie everywhere she goes. I will read my son Luke books every night to go to sleep ... it's great."
