After over a decade of waiting, the Friends cast are finally going to reunite for a two hour comedy special as part of a tribute to the show's director James Burrows, who recently shot his 1,000th television episode.
With all six cast members - David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow - expected to appear in the NBC reunion special, NBC chief Robert Greenblatt has admitted there's a chance they won't all be together in the same room.
He explained: "I'm hoping all six will be in the same room at the same time. I'm not sure we can logistically pull it off."
The news was revealed on Wednesday (January 13) at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, with the programme coming to US screens on Sunday February 21.
Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman has always remained certain that the group wouldn't return for a scripted episode, telling E! News in 2015: "Let it go. It'll never happen - not happening!"
Though this won't be the episode so many were hoping for, it'll at least bring back some of the most iconic comedic actors of our time to the screen, in a nostalgic look back at some of their legendary work.
