The 54-year-old actor - who played dad Martin Goodman for six seasons - died of a brain tumour on Monday (05.04.21) but he will be remembered through the upcoming 10th anniversary special.

Big Talk Publications said in a statement: "He was a brilliant, kind and talented man much loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know and work with him, and Paul will forever be part of both the Big Talk and 'Friday Night Dinner' families.

"Our thoughts are with his own family at this time and following their wishes we will be making a donation to the Old Vic Impact Fund – https://www.oldvictheatre.com/support-us/donate."

The 'You Look Nice: The True Story of Friday Night Dinner' documentary will feature never-before-seen outtakes of the late actor, Tamsin Greig, Simon Bird, and Tom Rosenthal, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast.

Series six came to an end with main characters Adam (Simon Bird) and Jonny (Tom Rosenthal) discovering their girlfriends, who were portrayed by Rebecca Humphries and Pearl Mackie respectively, were both pregnant, much to the lads' surprise.

However, Big Talk Productions CEO Kenton Allen has hinted a seventh season doesn't look too likely at the moment as show creator Robert Popper doesn't want to feature the children in the show.

Speaking about the future of the sitcom, he said: "I don't think Robert wants to write a series where they bring their wives and children around.

"Never say never, but I suspect that's probably it for the time being.

"You never know. For the time being, we're not planning to make any more 'Friday Night Dinner'."
