Freddie Flintoff missed out on hosting the Australian version of 'Take Me Out'.
The former England cricketer filmed a pilot of the show Down Under, but according to his 'Top Gear' co-host Paddy McGuinness, TV bosses were turned off by the way the Lancastrian speaks.
Paddy, 47 - who hosted Britain's version of 'Take Me Out' - shared: "Flintoff did the pilot ... hilarious. It didn’t get commissioned, obviously.
“He was like ‘Hello there ... welcome to Take Me Out’ ... ‘Erm, a little bit more flow there, Fred.' "
Paddy revealed that he was also approached about hosting the show in Australia.
However, the TV star - who has kids Felicity, five, and seven-year-old twins Penelope and Leo with his wife Christine - rejected the opportunity because he didn't want to spend so long away from home.
Paddy has been reluctant to be separated from his children for too long after they were both diagnosed with autism.
He told the 'Lockdown Parenting Hell' podcast: "When we realised there was something wrong with the kids and we got the autism diagnosis, we never told anyone for a while as we were dealing with it ourselves.
"What I found myself doing was, my agent would go, ‘We got you this fantastic job, we want you to go here, here and here’ and I’d be like, ‘I don’t fancy it’ - and found myself doing that a lot.
"Friends would say, ‘We’re having a night out’ and I’d go, ‘I’m busy,’ and that happened for a long time."
Paddy also admitted he had second thoughts about accepting the presenting role on 'Top Gear'.
He explained: "That was another big consideration as, mad as it sounds, when 'Top Gear' came along because it’s a massive gig and a gig where a lot of people would give their right arm to do the job and my first thing was, ‘Were are we going to be going?’ "
