The four contestants were hand-selected by their four coaches during Saturday night's (17.03.18) tense show.

will.i.am opted to save Tai after she wowed the judges with an urban performance of Dolly Parton's hit 'Jolene'.

It is normally the case that the coach chooses a song for their contestant but Tai walked into the rehearsal room to tell will.i.am and his guest mentors - his Black Eyed Peas bandmates apl.de.ap and Taboo - that she had a track in mind. Impressed by her boldness, the 'I Gotta Feeling' hitmaker let Tai choose her track and the arrangement herself.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson opted to save 16-year-old Gayatri Nair, with Jake Benson and Ross Anderson leaving the competition. Gayatri impressed with a rendition of 'This is Me' from 'The Greatest Showman' soundtrack, originally sung by Keala Settle in the movie.

Olly Murs - new to this series - found it tough choosing between Lauren and her rivals Kade Smith and Holly Ellison. Lauren sang Imagine Dragons' 'Believer' whilst Kade sang 'Express Yourself' and Holly was handed Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' to perform. Olly was helped out in rehearsals by 'When The Bassline Drops' hitmaker Craig David.

Sir Tom Jones - who was joined by Kylie Minogue as a guest mentor - saved Lucy after she wowed with an emotionally charged performance of 'Gravity' by Sara Bareilles. The whole audience and the four coaches were on their feet by the end of the song as Lucy started to well up, shocked at the reaction.

The 'Voice' continues next Saturday (24.03.18), where the other 12 contestants will be whittled down to just 4 to join tonight's 4 in the live semi-finals.
