Nicola Adams is dreaming of a James Bond role

The double Olympic gold medal winning boxer has been having acting lessons since retiring from the ring in 2019 and she has her sights set on landing a part in a 007 blockbuster.

Nicola would rather play a baddie than someone who helps James Bond - who was most recently portrayed by Daniel Craig - because everyone knows her as a such a nice person outside of boxing so she would love to inhabit a character that is completely different to her real personality.

She said: “A Bond film would the ultimate goal, the ultimate dream for sure. I think because I am such a nice person outside of the ring maybe it would be good to see me play a villain. I’d like the challenge of playing a character that is completely different to the type of person that I am.

“I want to do films, action movies or even an action TV show, I’ve got the skills! But I really want to do movies.”

Before finding fame as a sports woman, Nicola previously appeared as an extra in 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale' and 'EastEnders'.

Since starting her acting coaching, the pugilist admits the hardest thing has been losing the “poker face” she had to develop when facing her opponents.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, she said: “At the moment I’m getting acting coaching, I’m learning all the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a role coming soon. Everything at the moment is geared to getting me to a really good standard.

“Coming from boxing and having to be so poker faced then going into acting and portraying all these different emotions, I think that has been the hardest part, opening up.”

Former WBO world female flyweight champion Nicola, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, England footballer Tyrone Mings and tennis star Heather Watson have all teamed up to launch the #AlproPBChallenge - available on YouTube - to get the UK fitter and trying more plant-based meals and to set a series of challenges inspired by their individuals sports.
