After weeks of speculation, ITV confirmed on Monday (17.04.23) the initial famous faces to enter the upcoming show ill include former boxing champion Amir Khan, 36, ‘Diversity’ dancer and DJ Jordan Banjo, 30, ex-‘Coronation Street’ actress Helen Flanagan, 32, and former ‘Countdown’ maths whizz Carol Vorderman, 62.
Joining them are Olympian Fatima Whitbread, 62, former royal Butler Paul Burrell, 64, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell, 56, ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson, 68, and 60-year-old ‘Happy Mondays’ frontman Shaun Ryder.
ITV said about how more celebrities will enter the show after episode one: “‘I’m a Celebrity... South Africa’ is a brand new show which sees the return of some of the most memorable campmates from ‘I’m a Celebrity... Get me out of Here!’ in the brand new setting of South Africa.
“There will be many more celebrities taking part in the series but viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp.
“All the campmates survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before.”
The broadcaster added about the show’s format: “The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving.
“With no public vote, they will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first ever ‘I’m a Celebrity Legend’.”
‘I’m a Celebrity... South Africa’ starts Monday 24 April at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
