Hitting CBS’ streaming service later this year, Star Trek: Discovery is set to entertain audiences with a story set a decade prior to the original Star Trek series, with Sonequa Martin-Green of The Walking Dead fame heading up proceedings. Starring as a human raised by Vulcans, her character is made captain of the USS Discovery in the show, but it’s not going to be an easy ride for the talented space explorer. Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, the show’s cast also includes Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, James Frain, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp along with other recognisable names from the world of acting.
Whilst an official release date hasn’t yet been given for the show, it’s expected to drop a little later this year in the autumn, otherwise known as the fall in the US, after being pushed back from its original planned premiere in January earlier this year (2017).
