Danny Rand AKA Iron Fist has finally been cast in the Netflix meets Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it's Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones who'll be stepping into the role when it comes to the streaming service at some point in 2017.
27-years-old, blonde and with a look of the original character from Marvel Comics, the final piece of Marvel's Defenders has now been slotted into place, which means that series - where Iron Fist joins Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones - can get underway whenever writers, producers and directors are ready.
Rand is a character born in New York City whose father, Wendell Rand, discovered the mystical city of K'un-L'un as a young boy. Facing tragedy in his youth, Daniel becomes an apprentice to Lei Kung who teaches him martial arts, allowing him to become his most gifted student.
After 10 years, Daniel leaves to seek vengeance for those who have wronged him and his family, so he returns to New York City hoping to find answers.
Whilst it's not been revealed if this is the journey we'll be following Rand on in the Netflix series, he's certainly an interesting character with a murky background and lots of storyline ammo in his pocket.
Marvel's Iron Fist is expected to come to Netflix in 2017, following Daredevil season two and Luke Cage season one which debut later this year.
