Fatima Whitbread would walk around the ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ campsite completely nude.
The Olympic javelin star - who at 61 is the oldest ever contestant on the Channel 4 show - encouraged everyone to embrace themselves as she would roam around completely starkers.
Dwain Chambers, an Olympian said: “Day one or two, Fatima would just walk past us naked.”
The 44-year-old sprinter continued: “I was like, what?”
Fellow contestant and ex-'TOWIE' star Ferne McCann said: “I really respected her. You’re totally exposed and you have to get over it. I think that the older you are, the more comfortable you are in your own skin and body, and she just stripped off. She encouraged me to just wash. You’ve got to find these comforts in that environment.”
Meanwhile, ex- ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith - who has also signed up to appear on the survival show - says she wanted to grow up to be like the 'I'm A Celebrity' contestant Fatima.
The 21-year-old actress said: “If anything like Fatima when I’m 60, I’ll have won in life. But she does fart all the time!"
Meanwhile, on Sunday’s episode (04.09.2022), Fatima - who broke the world record at the 1986 European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart with a throw of 77.44 metres - revealed she was “abandoned as a baby and left to die”.
After impressing them with the much-dreaded gassing challenging, she told Directing Staff Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham and Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox: “Yeah it’s hard, I didn’t expect it not to be, but you dig deep and see what you’ve got.
Foxy responded: “I’ve known you since a young age, and you’re like an inspiration to me.”
Fatima replied: “I was abandoned as a baby, and some would say left to die, in a flat in London, and a neighbour heard that baby crying for a couple of days and didn’t see anyone coming or going, so she reported it.”
