Ewan McGregor has signed up to 'CBeebies Bedtime Stories'.
The 47-year-old actor will read 'Everybody's Welcome', written by Patricia Hegarty, on the show on Friday (17.08.18), and he was delighted to be asked to read the book on the programme.
He said: "It's such an honour and pleasure to join an incredible list of actors to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story to children all over the UK.
"I had a great time filming and I hope everyone enjoys watching it."
The book tells the story of a small mouse who wants to build a home where he can take in those in need, where everybody is welcome and nobody is excluded.
The animal learns that if they work as a team, they can build a house to protect everyone and keep them safe and warm, where they all feel they belong.
Ewan is following in the footsteps of a long list of celebrities who have read bedtime stories, including Tom Hardy, Sir Elton John, George Ezra, Suranne Jones, Dolly Parton, Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Guy Garvey, David Tennant, Damian Lewis, Tim Peake and US actor Chris Evans.
The 'Trainspotting' star has four children, Clara Mathilde McGregor, 22, Jamyan McGregor, 17, Esther Rose McGregor, 16 and seven-year-old Anouk McGregor, all of whom he has with his estranged wife Eve Mavrakis.
The 'Moulin Rouge' actor says he hasn't taken on another job since filming wrapped on 'Christopher Robin' in November last year, as he "needed" to create free time in his life to spend with his children
He said: "I haven't worked since making this film last November. I just took this time off. I needed to, and I wanted to.
"In actual fact, it's been brilliant having this time off. I've spent a lot of time with my kids, [and also] doing things that I like to do like riding my old bike and tinkering with old cars ... Things that I felt like I wasn't having any time to do and not really having a great deal of time."
