Emmett J. Scanlan, Tahirah Sharif and Jimmy Akingbola have signed up for 'The Tower'.
The acting trio are set to join Gemma Whelan - who plays Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins - in the upcoming ITV drama, which is based on the novel 'Post Mortem' by Kate London.
Kate used to work with the Metropolitan Police, finishing her career with the Major Investigation Team on the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, and the drama follows the story of an ex-cop and a teenage girl falling to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London.
But on top of the roof, a five-year-old boy and a trainee police officer Lizzie Adama (Tahirah) are still alive.
DS Sarah Collins is then put on the case to try to find missing Lizzie and discover just why two people lived and two died.
Emmett will play uniformed police inspector Kieran Shaw and Jimmy is DC Steve Bradshaw.
Paul Testar will produce the drama, and Sherie Myers has been listed as co-producer.
Jim Loach ('Save Me Too') will direct the upcoming series, which has been commissioned for ITV by Head of Drama Polly Hill.
Kate previously confirmed her novel would be adapted for television.
She said in a statement earlier this year: "In 2006 I ran away from the circus to join the police. Within a matter of weeks I was writing - not for publication, but because I just had to get down on paper the world I encountered: its complexity, laughter, loyalty, the moral conflicts and the dangers that were not only physical.
"Policing showed me London in a way no other job could.
"The product of this experience was my first novel, 'Post Mortem'.
"After a fierce bidding war, I chose Patrick Harbinson to bring the book to screen. I was persuaded not only by his outstanding track record, but by his passionate engagement with the characters and the choices they face.
"I am thrilled and honoured that Patrick and the high-calibre team at Mammoth and ITV have come together to bring my characters to life on the screen."
