Samantha Giles has encouraged fans to be "proud" of their natural looks after her 'Emmerdale' character was hospitalised following a Botox disaster.
The 47-year-old actress' alter-ego Bernice Blackstock suffered an allergic reaction to internet-bought Botox injections after being pressured to have them before her 50th birthday by troublesome teen Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger).
But the star took to Twitter to thank viewers for tuning in, and posted an unfiltered selfie to show she doesn't have any facial paralysis in real life.
On Thursday night (03.01.19), Samantha wrote: "Thanks for watching this story folks- as you can see no paralysis and #nofilter be proud of your lines! (sic)"
Bernice went into anaphylactic shock after her colleague, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), administered the injections into her forehead.
Her loved ones were told that she may suffer from permanent facial paralysis, however after being in hospital, doctors said she will make a full recovery.
'Emmerdale' fans took to social media to congratulate Samantha on raising awareness of such a current issue about the dangers of buying unlicensed non-surgical products and administering them without a medical qualification.
One user wrote: "A great storyline and a fantastic job by you Sam. Definitely thought provoking and hopefully it will make more people think about the risks. (sic)"
Another said: "Be yourself and be proud of you for who you are is much better (sic)"
