Max Parker found it "cringe" when he and Isabel Hodgins had to "giggle suggestively" for an 'Emmerdale' scene - because kissing is currently banned due to social distancing.

The actor - who plays Luke Posner - had to mimic a sex scene with the 26-year-old actress (Victoria Sugden), but a sound issue meant they ended up having to record their sexy giggles separately.

He told Inside Soap magazine: "There was one where me and Izzy were supposed to do a sex scene in the bedroom, but obviously we can't do any kissing because of social distancing.

"So they made us run up the stairs while giggling suggestively - but they didn't get the giggles to pick up on the sound, so we had to record our vocals separately - us giggling sexily! It was the cringiest thing I've ever done, but it was hilarious watching Izzy do it."

Max believes his character can "go the distance" with Victoria, as he thinks they are meant to be together.

He added: "I think Luke and Victoria have what it takes to go the distance. In a lot of the previous scenes that have been on, when we've been bantering, and the chemistry has been developing, there has been a lot of Luke trying to please Vic.

"However, now that we've seen Victoria's guard come down and Luke be himself a bit more, I reckon everyone will see that they're meant for each other!"

What's more, Max has been nominated for Best Newcomer at this year's Inside Soap Awards after he joined the ITV show in 2019.

But he was "shocked" to discover he had received a nod for the award during the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "To be honest, I was shocked, and just really humbled. It means a lot, especially as someone just starting in my career; it's a good platform. Obviously, the acting industry is really tough right now, so getting something like this is a nice little boost."

Max and Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) are among the 'Emmerdale' nominees for the virtual Inside Soap Awards in November.
