'Emmerdale' star Mark Charnock often gets mistaken for an 'EastEnders' star by taxi drivers.
Despite playing Marlon Dingle on the ITV soap since 1996, the 52-year-old star has revealed cabbies tend to ask him how long he has been in the BBC One show for, and they also tell him how their wives or girlfriends have a soft spot for Jeff Hordley's character Cain Dingle.
He wrote on Twitter: "Some taxi chats down the years:
“I had Zak in here the other day.”
“My wife likes that Cain.”
“Is Sam like that in real life?”
“My girlfriend likes that Cain.”
“Can you really cook?”
“I like that Cain.”
“How long have you been in Eastenders?” (sic)"
Mark's co-star Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), who is married to Jeff in real life, revealed taxi drivers often say how "lucky" she is.
She replied: ""You are SOO lucky!" .... (sic)"
Former 'Emmerdale' star James Sutton (Ryan Lamb), who plays homosexual 'Hollyoaks' character John Paul McQueen, admitted cabbies often ask if he is "gay in real life".
He posted: "Are you gay in real life?"
"Ever thought about doing films?"
"I don’t watch it myself"
"Are you gay in real life?"
"Eh, those birds eh..!"
"Can Marlon really cook"
"Are you gay in real life?" (sic)"
Emmerdale's Bhasker Patel (Rishi Sharma) jokingly asked his co-star Mark when he stopped portraying the late Leslie Grantham's 'EastEnders' character 'Dirty' Den Watts.
He tweeted: "When did you stop playing DIRTY DEN then Mark???? @emmerdale (sic)"
