Lisa Riley got sunburnt after filming a cake fight on 'Emmerdale' - because she was covered in buttercream.
The 46-year-old star loved shooting the comical brawl, which saw her character Mandy Dingle clash with Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), after it was revealed Jimmy King (Nick Mile) had feelings for Mandy.
Lisa told Inside Soap magazine: "The cake fight was unbelievable. It was when the COVID rules started to relax a bit, so me and Nicola Wheeler [Nicola] really went for it.
"But it was one of the hottest days of the year, and we were covered in buttercream, so we kept getting burnt!
"We still say now that’ll never forget the showers we had when we got home - there was cake everywhere.”
Other performances in the ITV soap have been memorable for Lisa, but for less funny reasons, such as the death of villain Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale).
Lisa said: "The scene in which Paul flatlined in the hospital is the hardest day I’ve ever had at work.
"Nobody at drama school taught me how to act with a six-foot doll in a hospital bed! It took a whole day to film and get all the shots they wanted, and every tear was natural. I didn’t have a tear stick or anything.”
Lisa also admitted it was tough acting out the aftermath of Paul's death due to on-set COVID restrictions.
Referring to the touching graveside scene with Paul's son Vinny, played by Bradley Johnson, 23, the actress said: “When you are dealing with something like death, and you can’t touch your fellow artists, it’s hard."
