'Emmerdale' has been given the title of 'Best Soap' at the InsideSoap Awards.
The ITV programme picked up the gong for the first time in 18 years, as well as winning the 'Outstanding Achievement' for the 40th anniversary live episode and 'Best Storyline' for Cameron Murray's cover-up killer plot, after fighting off stiff competition from rival shows 'EastEnders' and 'Coronation Street'.
Dominic Power - who played Cameron in the soap - was honoured as the 'Best Bad Boy' for his remarkable performance in last week's episode, which saw him hold a number of residents hostage at gun point in the Woolpack pub, before he was later killed off from electrocution.
'Emmerdale's Charley Webb - who plays Debbie Dingle and was held hostage in the boozer - told BANG Showbiz at the event: "It's just amazing to win 'Best Soap'. I'm so proud of everyone on the show. I think it's about time that we did. People say I'm obviously biased because I'm on the show but I do think it's our time.
"I'm really proud. It's been a really challenging storyline. But it's been great."
