Patrick Mower will join the Queen's special Platinum Jubilee parade.
The 83-year-old actor - who has played Rodney Blackstock on ITV soap 'Emmerdale' for over two decades - will be seen alongside other well-known public figures as they make their way through London on open-topped buses to recapture each decade of Queen Elizabeth II's reign as the 96-year-old monarch marks 70 years on the throne this Sunday (05.06.22.).
In a statement, he said: "I am greatly honoured to have been asked to join in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant celebrations. Because of my work with The Lord's Taverners, The Variety Club of Great Britain and SPARKS charities, I have had the honour of meeting Her Majesty and Prince Philip on numerous occasions. I look forward to sharing this wonderful event with the nation and Her Majesty this Sunday."
The 'Carry On England' star - who has been married to Anya Pope since 1996 and has 19-year-old son Maxim with her as well as Simon and Claudia from a previous marriage to Audrey Giles - will join a line up of specially chosen celebrities for the event, including TV legend Sir David Jason, singer Sir Cliff Richard 'This Morning' presenter Holly Willoughby and 'Dancing on Ice' stars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
The parade will also include nods to British culture, with a selection of James Bond's motors from the 007 series, a fleet of Land Rovers and the Trotters Independent Trading co van from classic sitcom 'Only Fools and Horses' on display during the historic event.
