'Emmerdale' has introduced Carryl Thomas as Nate Robinson's mum.
The actress made her first appearance as Cara - the on-screen mother of Jurell Carter's character - during Thursday night's (09.01.20) double bill in dramatic fashion.
In a shocking twist, Cara accidentally ran over Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) when the character - who is on a downward spiral at the moment - stumbled drunkenly into the road and got hit by her car.
Carryl - who previously appeared on the likes of 'Family Affairs', 'Holby City' and 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' - took to Instagram to thank fans for their messages following her debut.
She wrote: "Cara finally arrived! #debut @emmerdale Thank you for all the messages. Keep watching #itv #cararobinson #emmerdale (sic)"
Moira was left unconscious in a ditch after the collision, but the newcomer took her to hospital to make sure she got the care she needed.
While it initially appeared Cara was simply a concerned driver, when Nate arrived at the hospital to check on Moira the truth became clear.
She insisted on taking her son back home after hearing about his recent behaviour, but he said he's going nowhere and wants to build his new business at Wylie's Farm.
At the hospital, Moira told her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) she was hoping Cara's arrival would lead to Nate leaving the village after the role he played in destroying her marriage to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
She said: "I'm glad [Cara's] got something about her. Hopefully she'll grab Nate by the scruff of the neck and drag him back home where he belongs.
"I mean it, Matty. Cain and me don't stand a chance with him around. He's got to go."
Cain found out about Moira and Nate's affair in some dramatic October episodes, only for Nate to reveal he is Cain's son.
