An Irish actor posing as a "boring" postman is a fake housemate on this year's 'Big Brother'.
Cork-born Michael, 29, has been hired by producers to act as "the people's puppet" and will be set secret tasks to "wreak havoc and keep his fellow housemates in a constant state of flux" on the 14th season of the reality TV show, which kicked off on Channel 5 tonight (13.06.13).
In a pre-recorded video, Michael said: "I'm not in there to make friends or avoid nomination, which makes me the most dangerous housemate in there."
The first batch of this year's contestants also entered the house tonight, including primary school sports coach, Callum Knell, 28, celebrity publicist, Dexter Koh, 28, who claims he was once London's highest paid male escort, identical twins Jack and Joe Glenny, 18, and Jemima Slade, 41, who owns a gold digger dating website.
Stockroom assistant Sam Evans, 23, who was born with 70-80% hearing loss, alternative model and self proclaimed b***h Sallie Alx, 26, feisty dental nurse Sophie Lawrence, 20, and fisherwoman and aura cleanser Wolfy Millington, 20, also entered the house.
Michael, who will be controlled by viewers, was set his first task by 'Big Brother' shortly after entering the house and immediately upset his housemates after he opted to save his own suitcase from being shredded in favour of destroying the rest of their belongings.
After witnessing his decision, Sallie began shouting at him as soon as he emerged from the Diary Room.
The eight contestants were then called to the garden to watch their things get shredded.
Channel 5 has promised that this year's 'Secrets and Lies' theme will make the show, hosted by Emma Willis for the first time, "harder and harsher" than ever before, subjecting the housemates to endless twists and tough tasks.
The second batch of contestants will be unveiled tomorrow night (14.06.13).
Two hours of live coverage from the house will air at 7pm every night on 5*.
