The 'Inbetweeners' star was rumoured to be taking over from Fearne Cotton as a team captain and even said she'd love the job, but she has now confessed that she and the show's host Keith Lemon (Leigh Francis) were "laughing" when the reports came out that she was the first in line for a spot on the outrageous panel show's team.

Speaking to the Metro.co.uk, Emily said: "Paddy will be amazing! Paddy is just brilliant and he's great for the job.

"The 'Celeb Juice' job was never mine, people just guessed, but it was quite funny to watch the rumours.

"Leigh [Francis - Keith Lemon] and I were just laughing.

"Leigh and I are such close friends, we're together a lot and people just assumed ... People just decided to put two and two together but I knew I never had the job, I always knew Paddy had the job, so I've always been very happy for Paddy."

Although she is not joining the show in a permanent role, Emily will make an appearance on the show.

She said: "I'm sure I'll make an appearance on 'Celebrity Juice'."

And she thinks the 'Take Me Out' host, who will be joined by Stacey Solomon on the programme, will be "amazing".

She added: "I really look forward to doing so, and Paddy will be amazing, he'll be great. He's flying at the moment, he'll be great."

Paddy - who is stepping in as a team captain opposite Holly Willoughby following Fearne's departure - can't wait to become a permanent fixture after a long history on the ITV2 show.

He said: "I was a guest on the first ever episode and I've done every series since so I've always felt like part of the 'Juice' family. Keith's one of my best mates, I love Holly and we all have a natural rapport. I'm looking forward to the chaos!"

Other celebrity panellists across the new series include Amanda Holden, Will Mellor and Johnny Vegas with more guest stars to be announced.
