Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Halloween special leaderboard.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress, 22, and her professional dance partner was among the 10 remaining couples on the BBC One show who performed a variety of dance routines in spooky costumes on Saturday (28.10.23) night.
Outfits included witches, swans and Severus Snape, with Ellie and Vito landing a total of 38 points from judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.
The pair’s Salsa to ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ by Sophie Ellis-Bextor was hailed as “the dance of the night – no playing around” by Motsi.
Close behind the pair were Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, with 36 points after they did a tango to ‘Vampire’ by Olivia Rodrigo.
It led to Shirley calling West End star Layton “laser-focused” and “an exceptional dancer”.
At the other end of the scale were Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima who only landed a score of 25 for their Charleston to ‘Jeepers Creepers’ by Al Donahue and his Orchestra.
Craig said it was “a bit by-numbers, lacked energy and power”.
