Elle Mulvaney didn't know Beverley Callard was leaving 'Coronation Street' until she saw her on 'Loose Women'.
The 'Corrie' actress - who plays Amy Barlow on the ITV soap - hadn't heard about her on-screen grandmother Bev (Liz McDonald) exiting the cobbles until she switched on her TV and saw her confirming details of her departure on the lunchtime show.
She said: "I love Bev. I didn't know she was leaving until I saw it on 'Loose Women', and when I saw her I was like, 'But what about us? Are you coming back?' As I genuinely love her."
The 17-year-old star also enjoys sharing screen time with her on-screen mother and father Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), and admitted they both make her laugh a lot.
She joked: "Well, honestly, it's like working with people my age sometimes.
"They're both so funny."
And the star admits her character's life has changed for the better recently after she found out Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) was in fact her half-sister, after the hairdresser discovered Steve is her dad.
Elle added to Inside Soap magazine: "I think Amy appreciates having a bigger sister.
"Being an only child for her has always been a problem, as she has Steve and Tracy for parents.
"There is always so much drama going on that Amy feels left out, but having Emma around changes that."
Last month, Beverley confirmed she had quit 'Coronation Street', and admitted she was "numb" when she told bosses she'd be leaving the cobbles next year.
She said: "I was in shock, I felt totally numb."
Although Beverley experienced "so many sleepless nights" over her decision to exit the show after three decades, she is certain she's made the right call.
And with her departure lined up for 2020, the soap star promised her final storyline will see her character go out with "a bang".
She added: "I've been told Liz is going to go with one hell of a bang. I can't wait!"
