Elizabeth Debicki was "intimidated" by Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie in 'The Night Manager'.
The 25-year-old actress has admitted she was "hugely" scared of her two male co-stars prior to starring in the BBC One series, although she now loves the duo "dearly" and spent one of the final days of filming cruising on a boat and drinking with the cast.
Speaking to Net-A-Porter's The Edit about the hit programme, which sees her play Hugh's on-screen girlfriend Jed Marshall, the Australian beauty said: "I was hugely intimidated by Tom and Hugh [Laurie] at first, but now I love them dearly. At the end of shooting we hired a boat and spent a day jumping into the sea and drinking. We wanted to live like Hugh's character, Richard Roper.
"I think the combination of the cast, the production and the political climate made it such a hit."
Elizabeth has revealed she was filled with "madness" when she read the full script of the show, which was based on the 1993 novel by John Le Carré, because she was drawn to her characters "juicy" plot line, and strongly believes women should fight for more complex characters to rival male roles.
'The Man From U.N.C.L.E' star explained: "When I read 'The Night Manager' script, a madness took hold - I had to be a part of it.
"I'm drawn to complex characters; women with a juicy character journey.
"Actresses should reject stereotypes aggressively. We need to fight for parts that are as complex as the male ones. If a male role wasn't as complex as the female role, we simply wouldn't watch it. TV pushes that boundary, but it's a constant struggle."
Meanwhile, Tom has praised Elizabeth for her portrayal in 'The Night Manager' and is excited for her acting career to continue to bloom.
He said: "There is more to Elizabeth Debicki than meets the eye. Which is saying something, because the Elizabeth Debicki that meets the eye is astounding. Jed could have become merely an object ... In Elizabeth's hands, Jed was complex, surprising and brave.
"Elizabeth elevates everything she is involved in and she is only just beginning. I can't wait to watch her soar."
