The 40-year-old comedian took part in this year's edition of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition along with professional partner Karen Hauer but following their elimination in week five on Sunday (22.10.23), he has admitted that he went through "so much growth" during his time on the show.

Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', he told stand-in host Christine Lampard: "As much as I enjoyed it and I got so much out of it, stand up is my comfort zone. You might come out in week one, or you might come out in week 13.

"It felt like the right time [to leave], I got so much growth, I was able to showcase my culture so for me to have that opportunity was phenomenal. I feel like a winner."

The BBC Radio presenter was then asked who he would like to actually win the series and while he did not give any specific name, he heaped praise on 'EastEnders' stars Bobby Brazier and Nigel Harman, 'Waterloo Road' actor Adam Thomas and broadcaster Angela Rippon, who at the age of 79, is the oldest contestant in the history of the show.

He said: "Do you know what? Listen, my guy Bobby, I call him Roberto. He's just such a lovely guy for a 20-year-old, so well brought up and he's done so well.

"Adam Thomas is a crazy guy but a lovely man, he's putting in effort,

"Nigel Harman is a dark horse, and Angela Rippon who I call Stretch Armstrong is getting longer and longer every single week. It's a game that everyone is enjoying and I hope that they are still continuing to enjoy it for sure."
