'EastEnders' paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth with a special scene in last night's (12.09.22) episode.
Before the usual titles had run, the BBC Soap began with soap matriarchs Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Wright) standing around a picture of the late monarch, who died aged 96 last Thursday (08.09.22), in The Queen Victoria pub.
Denise said: "She has been there our whole lives, it’s like she’s everything we have ever known."
Kathy added: "It just feels so personal, just devastating, it’s like we have lost our nan."
Linda - who is a huge fan of the royal family - said: "We have ... we have all lost our nan. She dedicated her entire life to serving us."
The trio also discussed the recent visit to Albert Square by King Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort, for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
They all toasted the new king, saying: "Long live the king."
Linda then told Denise and Kathy of her plans to pop down to Buckingham Palace to pay her respects for the late monarch.
And she placed the queen's picture next to the pub's Queen Victoria bust, and said: "Look after her."
At the end of the scene, Linda said: "Thank you Ma'am, from us all."
The usual 'EastEnders' title sequence then aired and the episode played out.
Danny Dyer (Mick Carter) recently admitted Charles and Camilla pulled their 'EastEnders' cameo "out of the bag" when they appeared in the soap.
He said: "They were really good, they pulled it out of the bag.
"We had 20 minutes with them. We rehearsed it, they got out of the motor, we did it and then they left."
