EastEnders' Gurlaine Kaur Garcha is "excited" to see how Ash Panesar deals with the "huge shock" that her boyfriend has slept with her mum.

The 27-year-old star's character has embarked on a relationship with Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) in recent weeks, and while she is not yet aware that her scheming mother Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) has slept with him just to spite her and control her, Gurlaine is looking forward to some dramatic scenes unfolding.
She said: "She's willing to go as far as she can to jeopardise anything that makes Ash happy, and I think Ash knows that but I don't think she'd expect her mum to actually sleep with Peter, so when that is revealed it's gonna be a massive blow to Ash.
"It's a huge shock and it will be exciting to see how she deals with that."
However, instead of weeping about the betrayal, the news looks set to bring out Ash's "dark side" and will leave her wanting revenge.
Gurlaine added to Mirror Online: "Ash will be devastated, gutted and betrayed because all she wants deep down is to be loved by her mum, and feel supported.
"She wants her mum to be proud of her and all those things, she doesn't get any of them from Suki.
"I know the audience will expect Ash to be sat crying, but I think it should bring out her dark side. I think she should want revenge and get her own back, and honestly I think it should be the last straw for her."
Balvinder recently admitted her character deliberately hooked up with Peter to put herself in a position to "control" her daughter.
She said: "It's not a fling, it's actually a manipulative tactic that she's employed in order to control the situation.
"She's really scheming, and she's used her power and sexual prowess to get Peter in a position where she can destroy him and Ash."
