Eamonn Holmes thinks getting up early for his new presenting role on 'GB News' is "worthwhile."

The 62-year-old broadcaster - who fronted 'This Morning' with wife Ruth Langsford, 61, for 15 years before stepping down in late 2021 - will now host a regular segment with Isabel Webster, titled 'Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel', and he quipped that "everything was good" except having to get up at the crack of dawn for a 6.00am start.
Making his first appearance on the slightly later 6.30am show on Monday morning (03.01.22), he confessed: "Everything is good except getting up at this time. What makes it worthwhile is knowing that you guys are out there and I'm getting nice messages from people all over the country who are looking forward to whatever we're going to do."
Eamonn previously spoke of his "excitement" at joining the news channel, which came after he and Ruth were ousted from their regular Friday morning slot on the ITV Daytime show - where they filled in for regular hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby - in favour of Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
He wrote on Twitter: "I've spent my career on broadcasting firsts and start-ups, and GB News is one of the most exciting yet. It's just the kind of shake-up the industry needs. I've admired GB News from the beginning for its clever mix of punch debate but delivered with warmth and even some fun. To be the great honour in journalism is to give a voice and respect to the unheard, and that is exactly what GB news is about."
In a statement, ITV wished Eamonn the "very best in his new role", whilst promising that "Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the 'This Morning' family and as an anchor presenter on 'Loose Women'."
