Eamonn Holmes is set to quit 'This Morning' and join 'GB News'.
The 61-year-old TV presenter - who currently co-hosts the ITV brunch-time programme alongside wife Ruth Langsford during the school holidays - is expected to start on the channel next year, where it is thought he will front his own show several times a week.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Eamonn’s move to 'GB News' marks the end of an era.
"He’ll be missed by many ITV viewers but, the truth is, this job offer probably came at just the right moment for both him and ITV.
"All good things come to an end."
Eamonn previously said he hoped 'GB News' - which launched in June - was given a "decent chance".
He said: "We need a shake-up on the news front.
"I have huge respect for TV news but this is a reminder news is not just Westminster or a constant woke agenda."
Ruth and Eamonn previously co-hosted 'This Morning' every Friday, but Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond replaced them in the slot at the beginning of the year.
Last April, Ofcom received more than 400 complaints after Eamonn suggested on 'This Morning' that there could potentially be a link between 5G masts and a coronavirus spread.
He said: "What I don't accept is mainstream media immediately slapping that down as not true when they don't know it's not true.
"No one should attack or damage or do anything like that but it's very easy to say it is not true because it suits the state narrative.
"That is all I would say as someone of an enquiring mind."
Other 'GB News' presenters include Nigel Farage, Simon McCoy, Kirsty Gallacher, and Alastair Stewart.
