Eamonn Holmes and Kate Thornton have been lined up as new presenters of 'Daybreak'.

The 'This Morning' host and the former 'Loose Women' anchor are expected to replace Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones next Easter when the show undergoes a revamp, and Eamonn - who currently presents Sky News' 'Sunrise', which airs weekdays from 6am to 9am - looks set to sign a £1.5 million deal.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The summer will be fronted by guest presenters as normal and then there will be a relaunch in September.

"The 'Daybreak' brand is seen by many as being permanently flawed, so may be dropped. They might reinstate GMTV or create something new."

New ITV head of daytime, Helen Warner, is making changes in a bid to increase the viewers and she is hoping to buy Eamonn out of his Sky News contract, since it has been extended to 2016.

Last week, former 'Loose Women' presenter Kate entered negotiations with 'Daybreak' bosses about joining the revamped show.

There are also talks about changing the show's name with 'Good Morning UK' one of the titles talked about, as well as tempting 'Countdown' co-host Rachel Riley to the programme.

Since 2006, Eamonn has been working on ITV daytime show 'This Morning', which he co-presents his wife Ruth Langsford every Friday and during the school holidays.
