Eamonn Holmes has had no contact from his former 'This Morning' co-stars since he formally quit the show on Friday (10.12.2021).
The 62-year-old broadcaster had presented the daytime show along with his wife Ruth Langsford, 61, for 15 years - most recently filling in for regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during the school holidays - but it has been claimed that he has heard nothing from his former 'This Morning' colleagues since announcing his move to GB News.
A source told The Sun: "They worked together for so long but there’s been no contact since Eamonn parted ways. He’s not really surprised and is looking forward to his new gig on GB News.”
In a statement, ITV wished Eammon well in his new venture but also confirmed that Ruth -who also has a presenting role on 'Loose Women' - is to remain as part of the ITV Daytime team.
A spokesperson said: "We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role. As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the 'This Morning' presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show. Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on 'Loose Women'."
Former Sky News anchor Eamonn posted a message to his 1 million Twitter followers announcing his new role and urging them to tune in.
He tweeted: "Here is The News ..... I'm joining @GBNEWS from The New Year . Hope you are coming with me and wish me well . In the meantime Compliments of The Season to you and thanks for your support folks."
