Show bosses are said to have put the Hollywood actors at the top of their wish list to help out host Declan Donnelly in the last episode of the series at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida, in the absence of his usual co-presenter Ant McPartlin, who is taking a break after being charged with drink driving.

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "Dec has got a big job on his hands fronting a live show from the States all on his own.

"Although he will have fellow show stars Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern there to assist, the producers want to add some sparkle with some big Tinseltown names.

"We're confident everyone will jump on board as it's such a popular family show."

Producers are also said to be keen on James Corden - who is based in Los Angeles, where he hosts 'The Late Late Show' - appearing on the programme's finale after he featured as a guest announcer on the March 10th episode.

Ant and Dec were joined by a host of big names for last year's series finale at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, including Christina Ricci, CeeLo Green and Cat Deeley.

Last weekend's 'Saturday Night Takeaway' was cancelled in light of Ant's arrest, but ITV have confirmed Dec will front the final two episodes alone.

They said: "We can confirm that 'Saturday Night Takeaway', presented by Declan Donnelly, will return to ITV on March 31, and the series finale will be taking place at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida a week later."

Dec wrote on Twitter: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of 'Saturday Night Takeaway' will go ahead.

"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x.(sic)"

Dec also confirmed on Sunday (25.03.18) that he is to become a dad for the first time.

He tweeted: "Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages. The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it (sic)"

Ant is seeking treatment following his arrest, which came after he was involved in a three-car crash earlier this month.
