Nikita Kanda is the ninth celebrity contestant confirmed for the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 28-year-old star is best known for being the current host of the BBC Asian Network’s Breakfast show, and she admitted signing up for the Latin and ballroom series is a "dream come true".
She said: "I can’t believe I’m going to be on 'Strictly'.
"This is a dream come true. I’m still pinching myself.
"I don’t think it will properly sink in until I step onto the dancefloor."
Nikita is also planning to embrace being Strictly-fied for the show.
She added: "I can’t wait to get glammed up and get out there. Throw the glitter on me!"
News of Nikita joining this year's list of 'Strictly' celebs was first revealed on her on BBC Asian Network Breakfast show on Tuesday morning (08.08.23).
It came just minutes after Adam Thomas had been confirmed for this year's 'Strictly' series on 'The Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, James and Matt'.
Speaking about his upcoming 'Strictly' stint, he said: "I am so excited to be joining the cast of this years' 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
"I've been such a big fan of the show for years, I can't believe I'm actually doing it!
"I can't dance to save my life but I'm buzzing to learn and have a good laugh with my pro. Get me on that dance floor ... I can't wait!"
The pair will take part in this year's 'Strictly' alongside Zara McDermott, who will be the first-ever former 'Love Island' star to take part in the programme later this year.
Nikita, Adam, Zara will join fellow famous faces such as 'The One Show' presenter Angela Scanlon, 'Sherlock' actress Amanda Abbington, broadcaster Angela Rippon, West End star Layton Williams, Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and comedian Eddie Kadi in the line-up for the new series, as they all battle it out for the chance to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
