'Dragons' Den' star Sara Davies has admitted her relationship with her husband caused "quite the scandal" when it started because of their age gap.
The 37-year-old businesswoman met her hubby Simon - with whom she has two children, Oliver and Charlie - 22 years ago when they were both teenagers and she has spilled that there was a lot of drama surrounding the romance initially because she was 15 and Simon was 19.
When asked how she met her husband in an interview with OK! magazine, she shared: "I was 15 and Simon was 19. So it was quite the scandal at the time, I can tell you!
"He was the star of our local cricket team and I remember him coming over and asking for my number. I was like, 'Oh my God!'
"He was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend."
Despite the concerns, the couple were made for each other and tied the knot in 2007.
Sara insists there is a simple secret to their long-lasting romance; she and Simon are still "madly in love" with one another.
She said: "We're still as madly in love today as we were 22 years ago. I idolise the ground he walks on, but it's not just that.
"I have huge respect for him and the person he is as well. It's a mutual thing."
Sara and Simon work together in their Crafter's Companion business and the TV star admits that if they have been too busy to chat about family business in a day then she schedules an appointment between them both.
She said: "We used to be just work, work, work. That all changed when we had kids, it gave us a completely different perspective on life. If I need to talk to him about something and we haven't had time during the day, as ridiculous as this sounds, I'll put in a 20-minute appointment and I'll say the three things we need to talk about."
Sara joined the line-up of BBC One business show 'Dragons' Den' in 2019, 13 years after being invited to pitch on the show, and she has no intention of giving up her seat as she thinks it's the perfect format to find exciting new money-making opportunities.
She said: "I'm at that stage in my business career where investing was the next step for me. We just sit and see a conveyor belt of fantastic businesses. For someone who wants to invest, 'Dragon's Den' is absolutely the best place to find business."
