Baga Chipz to front new BBC documentary on cost-of-living crisis
The 33-year-old drag queen - whose real name is Leo Loren - came third in the inaugural series of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' in 2019 and now be interviewing BBC journalists and experts for the new series about the cost-of-living crisis later this year.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s a series all about the economy where I ask lots of questions about what it all means. You’ll see me have conversations with lots of well-known journalists from the BBC. They have to teach me about things like the cost-of-living crisis and the Bank Of England.”
The 'Prince Andrew: The Musical' star is hoping her documentary will educate others about how to deal with the economic recession.
She added: “The series is about educating the uneducated. A lot of us watch the news and don’t understand a word of it.
“It’s all about the FTSE and stuff. But I don’t understand all that. People around the country want to know what it all means and this series is about helping people.
“I’ll get them the experts to explain things in Baga Chipz lingo. I even get a buzzer that I can press when I’m confused!.”
Baga guest starred in Channel 4 school drama 'Ackley Bridge' in 2022 and also recently admitted that she would like to land a role on ITV soap opera 'Coronation Street' because she is a huge fan and is friendly with the cast.
She said: "I know this is a bit far-fetched but I would love to be on 'Coronation Street', even as an extra. I know most of the cast and I always go for a drink with them in Manchester. I’d like to be a character but even just like sitting in the cafe having a cup of tea, saying, ‘You alright love?’ I’ve put many hints out in interviews and they still haven’t gotten back to me."
