Downton Abbey's Lesley Nicol is set to join 'This Morning.'
The 62-year-old actress - who is known for playing Mrs Patmore in the ITV period drama until it came to an end last month - has swapped the Yorkshire country house kitchen for the red sofa on the breakfast show as she fronts a two-part special for the ITV programme's Give A Dog A Home appeal.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "This is such a worthy cause, and one I'm very passionate about. It breaks my heart to see any animal suffering and it's fantastic that 'This Morning' are helping to find homes for them too."
The star will be welcomed by hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as she teams up with the Dogs Trust charity to find new forever homes for dogs abandoned at Christmas.
She explained: "It's always great seeing Phillip and Holly as I know they are big 'Downton' fans, but this time we'll talk about something a little different."
Meanwhile, the final ever episode of 'Downton Abbey', which first hit screens five years ago, aired over the festive period and set a new ratings record by pulling in 10.9 million viewers - becoming the most watched show of Christmas Day.
Lesley is set to appear on 'This Morning' for her two-part special on January 7 and January 8 on ITV.
