Dominic Brunt is "absolutely buzzing" after having his coronavirus vaccine.

The 'Emmerdale' legend is used to administering jabs into animals as his character, vet Paddy Kirk, but he was on the receiving end of the COVID-19 vaccination today (18.03.21), and the 50-year-old star was delighted to be given a free sticker.

He wrote on Twitter: "Absolutely buzzing today. I got a free sticker with my jab. A lolly would have been nice but a sticker will do as I was very brave. Thank you #NHS x (sic)"

Dominic's former co-star Tom Lister - who played Carl King in the ITV soap from 2004 to 2012 - joked he was "livid" upon hearing about his ex-colleague's sticker, because he didn't get anything after his jab.

He wrote: "I’m livid. I got nothing! Not even a High five (sic)"

News of Dominic's vaccine comes after 'Emmerdale' fans took to social media to praise the soap following a scene on Wednesday night (17.03.21) when Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) revealed to son David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) he had received his second jab.

He told David: "I just had my second injection. I'm now fully vaccinated."

David said: "Dad, that's fantastic. How are you feeling?"

Eric explained: "When I was driving back, all I could think of was how grateful I am.

"Today at least, I feel real hope, hope for us all."

Several other Dales stars have received their vaccine in real life, including Patrick Mower (Rodney Blackstock).

In a post shared by Lincolnshire NHS in December, the 82-year-old star said: "Getting my COVID vaccination was incredibly simple and painless.

"I feel incredibly lucky to have had it & would like to thank all the wonderful NHS staff for making it happen."
