Doctor Who is recruited into River Song's squad in 'The Husbands of River Song'.
Doctor Who and River Song take on Nardole in The Husbands of River Song
Alex Kingston's time travelling character is to appear in the sci-fi series for the first time since her husband, the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) was reincarnated, and the new Doctor (Peter Capaldi) will join her on a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy after a crashed spaceship calls upon him for help.
The titular Time Lord is recruited as he attempts to hide from Christmas carols and comedy antlers in the upcoming Christmas special titled 'The Husbands of River Song'.
The episode will also see 'The Inbetweeners' actor Greg Davies take on the role of a furious King Hydroflax while 'Little Britain's Matt Lucas will play his out-of-control robot bodyguard Nardole.
It is not yet known whether Nardole will survive or how long it will take for River Song to figure out who the Doctor is.
However, all will be revealed on a starliner full of galactic super-villains and a destination the Doctor has been avoiding for a very long time.
