Following the huge success of the first series on BBC One, it's been confirmed that Doctor Foster will be making a comeback to the channel with a second series.
As the highest-rated new television drama of 2015 to-date, a consolidate average of 8.2 million viewers tuned into the show throughout its broadcast, with over 10.1 million catching the explosive finale this past October.
Mike Bartlett, creator said: "I've been astounded by the response to Doctor Foster, so I'm thrilled that alongside Drama Republic and the phenomenal Suranne Jones, we're now going to tell the next chapter in Gemma's story.
"Her life in Parminster may look better on the surface, but as she will discover to her cost, every action has its consequences eventually. No-one comes through hell unscathed."
Jones who plays Doctor Gemma Foster adds: "I can't wait for the audience who invested in these characters to find out the explosive twists and turns Mike has in store. Now we can look into what happens to a woman after divorce, deceit and revenge has taken its toll."
No date has yet been given for Doctor Foster's return.
