Shamed entertainer Rolf Harris still has a firm worth £2.6 million.
The 90-year-old disgraced TV star spent three years in prison between 2014 and 2017 after he was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against four underaged girls.
But despite having his career ended by the charges, it has now been revealed Harris is still raking in the cash, as a firm set up by the ‘Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport’ singer has reported a a bottom line of £2.6 million.
According to The Daily Star newspaper, the former entertainer - who is believed to be worth around £15 million - founded RHE Investments Ltd in January 2012 to invest in stocks and shares, and accounts filed last week show that is has £160,164 in cash, plus £2.1 million in investments.
Books sent to Companies House also showed it paid £121,227 in Corporation Tax on its profits meaning the firm made more than £600,000 in the 12 months to the end of June this year.
Harris stepped down as a director of the company in September 2015, but his wife Alwen Hughes was company secretary until September of this year, and his niece Jennifer also helps administer the firm and is paid to look after the investments.
The entertainer was originally sentenced to five years and nine months in jail when he was convicted in 2014, but he was released in May 2017 part-way through a re-trial on four accusations of indecent assault.
In November 2017, he appeared at the Court of Appeal in London to try and overturn his 2014 convictions, claiming jurors in the case were "poisoned" against him, but he was only successful in overturning one of his 12 convictions.
